Irish frontman sings songs of luck and gold

R of Ireland 2-1 Georgia
Four of our lads were named for the friendly match tonight. Doyle, S. Hunt, N. Hunt and Long were all named, and the first three made the team. Kevin Doyle played the whole 90 minutes alongside Irish long-timer Robbie Keane and had a great outing, in a game where the referee could have made better decisions with a pair of Guinness pint glasses over his eyes, than he actually did without them.
Doyle was not awarded a clear penalty in the opening stages of the game, before seeing Keith Andrews’ goal disallowed, as the referee had judged the ball to have taken a deflection off Doyle (who WAS in an offside position). However, television replays showed the ball to have come off a Georgian defender, and not the Irish frontman.
It all leads back to the insistence of bringing in television replays or better communications between officials, such as seen in rugby.
These appeals were further supported by a call that fell in the fortunes of Ireland this time, as Lobjanidze was judged to have handled inside his area, however the defender was again, clearly in the right.
Keane struck home the penalty, before neatly finishing up a header from Doyle to make it 2-1.
Stephen Hunt took the field for the final 10 minutes to replace Damien Duff, but his brother Noel didn’t have the same luxury.
A promising continuation for KevD’s international career and RoI’s 2010 campaign, as mainland England couldn’t bring out the robot in Crouch in their 2-0 defeat to silky Spain.
